Shibari Basics – August
In this workshop, basic techniques of shibari will be explained.
The following topics will be covered:
1. History and background of Shibari
2. Health, anatomy, biomechanics
3. Consensus, emotional and psychological risks
4. Basic techniques (aisatsu shibari, the shakuhachi (bamboo flute), the collar exercise and the wedding proposal)
5. Free improvisation with these techniques to tell your own “story”.
The rope techniques will be shown and practiced. It will also be explained how the basic principles of the 9 Gates show up in the techniques and how we can use these simple patterns to create an intense and fulfilling communication between us and our counterpart.
We will work in a small group of 4-6 couples to ensure an ideal support ratio.
The workshop is designed for beginners who have no previous experience.
The workshop will take place in two blocks of 3 hours each. There will be a one hour break in between. Food is included. Please bring comfortable clothes in which you can move well. You can change on site.
Ropes can be borrowed free of charge on site, but you are of course welcome to bring your own.
