Description of the workshop
Are you interested in learning shibari, the Japanese art of rope bondage? This workshop is intended for total beginners, without any prior knowledge. It will give you an introduction to the world of tying and tools to start using ropes at home immediately. You will learn the basic knots and frictions and how to apply the basic concepts to improvise tying on the whole body.
During 4 hours, you will learn:
– The fundamentals, starting with security, negotiation, and consent
– Basic knots: single column tie (SCT) and double column tie (DCT)
– Frictions and how to “finish the rope”
– How to use knots and frictions to tie different body parts
– Tips to improve the connection to your partner and fluidity of tying
During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to switch between tying and getting tied.
You will need one or two ropes. If you don’t have any, you can borrow ropes from me or you can also buy some.
Wear any outfit that you are comfortable with, such as a yoga outfit. It’s better to not have clothes too loose for the person being tied.
